Greetings and welcome!
It gives me great pleasure to be elected by the residents of District 6 and to serve
as their Parish Councilman. I will serve you with pride, dignity and honesty. I
look forward to working with you as I work for you in this great endeavor. Already
we have many plans and I feel I am with a group of men who will work hard for the
betterment ofWashington Parish.
I am a graduate of Franklinton High School, attended Sullivan Vocational School
in Bogalusa for one year and went on to attend college at Grambling State University
where I received by Bachelor of Science Degree. I am a former Aldermanfor the Town
of Franklinton, a former referee and umpire, a Masonic brother and involved in civic
and community clubs.
I am married to Washington Parish educator, Emma Lois A. Route, and we have two
children. Phairon is a college student and Greg, Jr. is a Coach/teacher in Caddo
Parish.
I am a Deacon, Sunday School Supt. and Building Fund Chairman at the Sweet Rest
Missionary Baptist Church of Franklinton, where Dr./Rev. Mallery Callahan is my
pastor. I worked 13 yrs. at Riverside Medical Center where I met many longtime friends.
I am presently employed at the Temple Inland paper mill, where I have a family of
hard-working, dedicated people in my life! To God Be The Glory for the things he
has done.
