Item No. 1 – Call to Order – Chairman Posey called the meeting to order.
Item No. 2 – Invocation – Chairman Posey gave the invocation.
Item no. 3 – Pledge of Allegiance – Councilman Posey called for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Item No. 4 – Roll Call – Clerk Sharon Lyons called the roll. Present were Kenneth Wheat, Michael Fussell, Charles Nassauer, Andre’ Johnson, Randy Thomas, Greg Route and Aubrey Posey.
Item No. 5 – Approval of Minutes – Councilman Johnson offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Fussell to approve the minutes of August 8, 2011 meeting. Roll call vote as follows:
YEAS: (7) Wheat, Fussell, Nassauer, Johnson, Thomas, Route and Posey

ABSENT: (0)
ABSTAIN: (0)
Item No. 6 – Clerk
of Court – Johnny Crain – The Chairman announced Mr. Crain could not be
present due to a conflict in schedule with another an important meeting in
Bogalusa.
Item No. 7 - Public Participation – Mr. Silas Peters and other representatives of Recreation District #2 were recognized. Mr. Peters gave an update concerning Recreation District #2 and stated the Board is in the process of moving forward with a plan and should be up and running shortly.
There was no further comments.
Councilman Fussell offered a
motion, seconded by Councilman Route to close public participation. Roll Call vote as follows:

Item No. 8 – President’s Report –
Finance Director, Donnas Alonzo, reported the
President had been called to testify at a Senate Committee Meeting regarding
the waste spill into the Pearl River.
Transportation Director’s Report
as follows:
Councilman Fussell reported before the end of the year DOTD of Louisiana should start paving Hwy. 1075.
Chairman Posey reminded all Council members to turn in their
list for Phase IV on the road program.
Item No. 9 - Council Discussion – Councilman Fussell thanked the road crews for the good work on the construction of roads.
Councilman Johnson reiterated what Councilman Fussell stated concerning the roads and said he was looking forward to Phase IV construction of roads in 2012.
Councilman Nassauer gave an update on the recent event held for Congressman Rodney Alexander. He said there was a good turn out by residents and elected officials. Congressman Alexander asked what are some of the important projects concerning the Parish and Councilman Nassauer told him, on his end of the Parish, one of the issues would be completing Highway 3241. Congressman Alexander asked detail questions concerning the project and was very open to getting on board with this issue. The Council unanimously agreed that this is a good opportunity to move forward with this project.
Councilman Nassauer asked the Clerk to the Council and Councilman Wheat to assemble a packet on Highway 3241 and send it to Congressman Alexander.
Councilman Thomas stated the Zachary Taylor Parkway is another issue Congressman Alexander could help move forward for the Parish. Also, he reminded people to ‘SHOP AT HOME’.
Councilman Route stated he met and visited with Congressman Alexander at the event and he believes that the Congressman will be a plus for our Parish.
Item No. 10 - Adjourn - No further business
to come before the council, the meeting was
adjourned on motion by Councilman Route,
seconded by Councilman Fussell. A roll call vote resulted as follows:
