A Resolution Authorizing President to Sign Application for Funding

under FY2012-FY2013 LCDBG Program

A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THAT THE WASHINGTON PARISH PRESIDENT SIGN AND EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE WASHINGTON PARISH COUNCIL – PRESIDENT GOVERNMENT ANY AND ALL CONTRACTS, PURCHASE AGREEMENTS, DECLARATIONS, APPLICATIONS, AMENDMENTS, AGREEMENTS AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS PAPERWORK NECESSARY FOR THE APPLICATION, ADMINISTRATION AND CLOSEOUT OF ALL FY2012-2013 LOUISIANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE PARISH AND ANY POLITICAL SUB-DIVISIONS THEREOF; AND FURTHER INDICATING THE INTENTION OF THE PARISH OF WASHINGTON, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE FY2012-2013 LCDBG PROGRAM.

The following resolution was presented for adoption by the Washington Parish Council on motion offered by ______Ken Wheat__, seconded by ___Michael Fussell_____.

WHEREAS, the WASHINGTON Parish Council-President Government intends to apply to the State of Louisiana, Office of Community Development for Louisiana Community Development Block Grants for eligible activities; and

WHEREAS, these grants will require a large volume of paperwork from the Parish Council in an expedited manner; and

WHEREAS, the Parish of Washington has decided to apply for a Louisiana Community Development Block Grant under the FY2012-2013 program funding cycle for the exclusive benefit of the citizens of the Parish; and

WHEREAS, the Parish has agreed to allocate funds for Engineering and Administrative services in order to receive “bonus” points on the LCDBG application.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Washington Parish Council, the governing authority of Washington Parish, Louisiana as follows:

That the Washington Parish President be and he is hereby authorized and directed to sign and execute on behalf of the Washington Parish Council – President Government any and all contracts, declarations, application, amendments, land purchase agreements, and other multi party agreements and all other documents and paperwork necessary for the application, administration and closeout of FY2012-2013 Louisiana Community Development Block Grants on behalf of the Parish any political sub-divisions thereof.

The above and foregoing having submitted to a vote, the vote thereupon resulted as follows:
