AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THAT THE
WASHINGTON PARISH PRESIDENT SIGN AND EXECUTE
ON BEHALF OF THE WASHINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
-PRESIDENT GOVERNMENT ANY AND ALL CONTRACTS,
PURCHASE AGREEMENTS, DECLARATIONS, APPLICATIONS,
AMENDMENTS, AGREEMENTS AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS
PAPERWORK NECESSARY FOR THE APPLICATION, ADMINISTRATIONAND CLOSEOUT OF ALL FY 2010-2011 LOUISIANA COMMUNIT DEVELOPMENT BLOCKGRANT APPLICATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE PARISH AND ANY POLITICAL SUB-DIVISIONS THEREOF; AND FURTHER INDICATING THE INTENTION OF THE PARISH OF
WASHINGTON, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE 2010-2011 FY LCDBG PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the WASHINGTON Parish Council-President Government intends to apply to the State of Louisiana, Office of Community Development for Louisiana Community Development Block Grants for eligible activities; and
WHEREAS, these grants will require a large volume of paperwork from the Parish Council in an expedited manner; and
WHEREAS, the Parish of Washington has decided to apply for a Louisiana Community Development Block Grant under the 2010-2011 program funding cycle for the exclusive benefit of the citizens of the Parish; and
WHEREAS, the Parish has agreed to allocate funds for Engineering and Administrative services in order to receive “bonus” points on the LCDBG application.
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Washington Parish Council, the governing authority of Washington Parish, Louisiana as follows:
That the Washington Parish President be and he is hereby authorized and directed to sign and execute on behalf of the Washington Parish Council – President Government any and all contracts, declarations, applications, amendments, land purchase agreements, all other multi party agreements and all other documents and paperwork necessary for the application, administration and closeout of FY 2010-2011 Louisiana Community Development Block Grants on behalf of the Parish and any political sub-divisions thereof.
BE IT FUTHER ORDAINED by the Washington Parish Council that:
Section 1. The Parish herby agrees to pay for Engineering Services, for the services rendered in connection with the aforementioned grant application, in the event that the grant is funded, in accordance with the Parish’s contract for professional services with its chosen engineering firm for services rendered in connection with the aforementioned grant application. These fees shall not exceed the maximum allowable fees for such services allowed under the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Program for professional engineering services that would otherwise be paid directly by the Office of Community Development.
Section 2. The Parish further agrees to pay for Administration Consulting Services for grant administration services in accordance with the Parish’s contract with Jim Ryan, LLC for services rendered in connection with the aforementioned grant application, in the event that the grant is funded. These fees shall not exceed the maximum allowable fees for such services allowed under the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Program for professional administrative services that should otherwise be paid directly by the Office of Community Development.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Washington Parish Council that this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon the signature of the Washington Parish President.
The above and foregoing having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereupon resulted as follows:
