AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE PARISH

PRESIDENT TO ENTER INTO A COOPERATIVE

ENDEAVOR AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF

LOUISIANA, DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION,

OFFICE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – DISASTER

RECOVERY UNIT FOR THE IMPLEMENTING GRANT

UNDER THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM THROUGH THE

PARISH IMPLEMENTED RECOVERY PROGRAM

WHEREAS, in the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike, the United States Congress appropriated funds to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Renewal(HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for use through the State of Louisiana for disaster recovery; and

WHEREAS, Washington Parish Government plans to apply for assistance from the CDBG Disaster Recovery Program through the Parish Implemented Recovery Program, for the long term recovery of Washington Parish; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of the funding is for the implementation of the long term community recovery plans of Washington Parish;

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the Parish President be and is hereby authorized to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit for the Implementing Grant under the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program, and to preside over all other matters and entities regarding the funding documents and the disposition of these funds.

The above and foregoing having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereupon resulted as follows:
