An ordinance authorizing the Parish President to enter into a Contract with the Keep Louisiana Beautiful organization regarding funds provided to Washington Parish through a competitive grant.
WHEREAS, on March 10, 2008, during council discussion, Councilman Randy Thomas and others felt a need to begin a campaign to clean up litter and unauthorized dumping in the parish;
WHEREAS, a grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful was advertised and was applied for by Keep Washington Parish Beautiful;
WHEREAS, a grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful was entered and applied for by Keep Washington Parish Beautiful, by the date of January 22, 2009 in the amount of $10,000 with a $2,500.00 match by Keep Washington Parish Beautiful.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the Parish President be and is hereby authorized to enter into a Contract with Keep Louisiana Beautiful and to preside over all other matters and entities regarding the funding and disposition of these funds.
The above and foregoing having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereupon resulted as follows:
