AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF

ONE (1) ETNYRE CHIP SPREADER, MODEL CHIP 2VN

THROUGH THE ACADIA PARISH POLICE JURY

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCAL SERVICE LAW,

LA. R.S. 33:1322, ET. SEQ.

 

 

WHEREAS, Louisiana law, particularly the Local Services Law (La. R.S. 33:132s, et. seq.), permits parish governments to make agreements between and among themselves, including, but not limited to agreements concerning the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment for greater economy and efficiency in the operation of local services, commonly referred to as “piggy-backing”;

 

AND, WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury has complied with the public bid law and has entered into a valid lease-purchase agreement the successful bidder, Doggett Machinery Services, for the lease-purchase of one (1) Etnyre Chip Spreader, Model Chip 2VN;

 

AND WHEREAS, the Washington Parish Government may enter into an agreement with the Acadia Parish Police Jury wherein the Washington Parish Government could purchase the identical equipment from Doggett Machinery Services under the identical terms of the lease-purchase agreement with the Acadia Parish Police Jury;

 

BE IT ORDAINED, that the Washington Parish Government enter into an agreement with the Acadia Parish Police Jury under the Local Services Law (La. R.S. 33:1322 et. seq.) for authorization to purchase one (1) Etnyre Chip Spreader, Model Chip 2VN through Doggett Machinery Services for a price not to exceed Two Hundred Two Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($202,000.00) under the identical terms of the lease-purchase agreement with the Acadia Parish Police Jury with the specific requirement that the lease-purchase agreement must contain “a non-appropriation of funds” provision and must not contain an “anti-substitution” provision.

 

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the Parish President is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accomplish the purpose of this ordinance.
