AN ORDINANCE TO EXTEND
AND REVISE
WHEREAS, Recreation Districts No. 1, 2 and 3 of Washington Parish,
WHEREAS, in the administration of these Recreation Districts the boundaries of the territory within each district should be revised;
BE IT ORDAINED, that the Washington Parish Council hereby amends Ordinance No. 09-488 entitled “An Ordinance Creating Recreational Districts for the Parish of Washington”, as follows:
A.
Section 1.1 is hereby amended to the extent that
Recreation District No. 1 of Washington Parish,
Township 1 South, Range 13 East
The West line of Section 5; the West line of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 8; a line running along the West line of Section 8 from the Southwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, thence South along the West line of Section 8 extending through Headright 38 to the West line of Lot 1, Section 17; thence along the West line of Lot 1, Section 17, to the Southwest Corner of Lot 1, Section 17; thence along the West lines of Lots 2, 3 and 4 of Section 17; thence along the West line of Headright 41 and the West lines of Sections 29 and 32.
Township 2 South, Range 13 East
The West lines of Sections 5, 8, 17, 20, 29 and 32.
Township 3 South, Range 13 East
The West lines of Sections 5, 8, 17, 20, 29, 32 and a line running through that portion of Headright 37 beginning at the Southwest Corner of Section 20, thence South to the Northwest corner of Section 29.
Township 4 South, Range 13 East
The West lines of
Sections 5, 8, 17, 20 and 29 ending at the South line of Washington Parish,
B. Section 2.1 is hereby amended to the extent that Recreation District No. 2 of Washington Parish, Louisiana shall consist of all of that territory being all of that portion of Washington Parish, Louisiana located North of the Township line between Township 2 South, Range 13 East and Township 3 South, Range 13 East, and East of a line described as follows:
Township 1 South, Range 13 East
The West line of Section 5; the West line of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 8; a line running along the West line of Section 8 from the Southwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, thence South along the West line of Section 8 extending through Headright 38 to the West line of Lot 1, Section 17; thence along the West line of Lot 1, Section 17, to the Southwest Corner of Lot 1, Section 17; thence along the West lines of Lots 2, 3 and 4 of Section 17; thence along the West line of Headright 41 and the West lines of Sections 29 and 32.
Township 2 South, Range 13 East
The West lines of Sections 5, 8, 17, 20, 29 and 32.
C. Section 3.1 is hereby amended to the extent that Recreation District No. 3 of Washington Parish, Louisiana shall consist of all of that territory being all of that portion of Washington Parish, Louisiana located South of the Township line between Township 2 South, Range 13 East and Township 3 South, Range 13 East, and East of a line described as follows:
Township 3 South, Range 13 East
The West lines of Sections 5, 8, 17, 20, 29, 32 and a line running through that portion of Headright 37 beginning at the Southwest Corner of Section 20, thence South to the Northwest corner of Section 29.
Township 4 South, Range 13 East
The West lines of
Sections 5, 8, 17, 20 and 29 ending at the South line of Washington Parish,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the boundary lines of the Recreation Districts are as shown on the map attached to this Ordinance and incorporated herein.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that all other Sections of Ordinance No. 09-488 remain in full force and effect.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that to the extent that any prior ordinances may be contradictory to the provisions of this ordinance, the such prior ordinances are repealed.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that as authorized by Sections 2-13(C) of the Washington Parish Home Rule Charter that this ordinance shall be published in summary by title.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon the signatures of the Parish Council Chairman and the Parish President.
The above and foregoing having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereupon
resulted as follows:
