AN ORDINANCE ENTERING
INTO AN
CONTRACT WITH LANDWORKS,
INC.
FOR THE OPERATION OF THE
WHEREAS, by virtue of Ordinance No. 95-100 dated July 24, 1995 the Washington Parish Government and the City of Bogalusa by agreement executed on June 17, 1998 and June 22, 1998 entered into a joint venture to acquire, construct, operate and maintain a landfill for the disposal of solid waste known as the Choctaw Road Landfill; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of Ordinance No. 08-459 dated July 14, 2008, the Washington Parish Government and the City of Bogalusa entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement for the continuing operation of the Choctaw Road Landfill; and
WHEREAS, the existing contract with Landworks, Inc., the contractor performing the duties of operation of the Choctaw Road Landfill, will expire as of June 1, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Request For Proposals (RFP) were solicited for contractors to operate the Choctaw Road Landfill; and
WHEREAS, the RFP Review Panel recommended Landworks, Inc. as being the most qualified of the responsive proposers with the Choctaw Road Landfill Joint Venture Solid Waste Committee and the Washington Parish Council Solid Waste Committee recommending Landworks, Inc. as the contractor for the operation of the Choctaw Road Landfill;
BE IT ORDAINED, that the Washington Parish Government, subject to the joint approval of the City of Bogalusa, enter into a contract with Landworks, Inc. as the contractor to operate the Choctaw Road Landfill in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract attached hereto and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the Parish President is authorized to execute the Contract with Landworks, Inc. for the operation of the Choctaw Road Landfill with the effective date of the Contract to be June 1, 2001 (the date of expiration of the existing contract) in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract attached hereto and made a part hereof.
The above and foregoing having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereupon
resulted as follows:
