On April 6, 2002, Washington Parish Voters approved propositions generating revenue dedicated to roads, bridges and incidental drainage. Washington Parish is seeing meaningful substantial improvements from our Road Funding Project.

Washington Parish Department of Public Works is responsible for all road and drainage activities on approximately 830 miles of roadway and 160 bridges within the unincorporated areas of Washington Parish. Their functions include bridge maintenance, culvert cleaning, driveway culvert installation, right-of-way mowing, roadside drainage, roadway maintenance, sign installation/replacement and tree removal (within right-of-way).
