The Veterans Monument was placed today in preparation for the dedication ceremony on Monday, May 19, 2008, at 10am in the morning.

Today a unit of Marines from the 4th Marine Divsion Headquarters came to Pooles Bluff the scout out the location and plan the event.

The lighting and flagpole is in place. Wow! What a wonderful job by Andy Nevers at NECO doing the lightig. The flagpole looks great and was built and installed by C A Stewart Construction Company. Thank you.

The Memorial dedicated to all Washington Parish Veterans is currently under construction. The design of the site was done by Eric Riley of Richard Lambert & Associates of Mandeville. The ordering and construction of the monument is being done by Dale Toney and his crew at Bogalusa Monuments. It should be in place in the next few weeks. The flagpole has been donated by C.A. Stewart Construction and will be installed very soon. Thank you for your generous gift to the Veterans.

The Site Dedication Ceremony is set for Monday, May 19, 2008, at 10am. Major General James Williams, USMC, the Commanding General of the 4th Marine Division (Bear Stewart's Marine Division) will be attending the ceremony. Sgt Bone from Bear's unit in Gulfport will also be attending. Their appearance is greatly appreciated.

Everyone is welcome to attend this ceremony. Please come.

David "Bear" Stewart Memorial in place at Pools Bluff. Go see it in person. It is beautiful.

December 6, 2007. Both monuments have been ordered. Need a flagpole.

November 19, 2007

The foundation has been formed and the concrete was poured. James Creel and his men from Chamico Inc. have done a wonderful job.

The bricks were donated by the American Legion of Bogalusa and the Poole's Bluff Conservation Association. They were

installed by the Carpentery class from Sullivan LTC lead by Phil Graves and Mark Corkern.
